Hi there, and welcome to another episode of Whispering Softly. Today, we explore the case of 25-year-old Jacqueline Poole, a shop assistant and part-time barmaid from Ruislip, North-West London. On 11 February 1983, she was brutally murdered in her own home.
Jacqueline's life was complicated: she was divorcing her husband, newly engaged, and had a lover on the side. All three men came under scrutiny, but one quickly rose to the top of the suspect list.
Just days after the murder, a psychic medium named Christine Holohan contacted police, claiming she had information from Jacqueline's spirit ... and in a strange twist, she named the same man detectives already suspected.
Yet despite the early momentum, the case stalled .... and stayed cold for some 18 years until the late 1990s when advances in DNA technology finally allowed old evidence to tell its story.
Keep listening to find out where the evidence led, who it pointed to, and whether justice was ultimately served ... Podcast Link
